        July 14, 2025 - The NIST 27Al+ quantum-logic clock sets a new accuracy record.

November 15, 2024 - The first ions are trapped in the Leibrandt group! After tuning things up, this image of six 88Sr+ ions was taken. These ions were trapped in the thorium experimental apparatus, where 88Sr+ is used for sympathetic cooling of 229Th3+.

August 13-16, 2024 - The North American Conference on Trapped Ions (NACTI) is held at UCLA.

November 1, 2022 - David Leibrandt starts as a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA! Previously, he was an Associate Professor Adjoint at the University of Colorado and led the trapped-ion optical atomic clock and precision measurement experiments within the Ion Storage Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, CO.
