November 15, 2024 - The first ions are trapped in the Leibrandt group! After tuning things up, this image of six ⁸⁸Sr⁺ ions was taken. These ions were trapped in the thorium experimental apparatus, where ⁸⁸Sr⁺ is used for sympathetic cooling of ²²⁹Th³⁺.

Previously, he was an Associate Professor Adjoint at the University of Colorado and led the trapped-ion optical atomic clock and precision measurement experiments within the Ion Storage Group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Boulder, CO.
